Celebration of Life Announcement

After much consulting with experts, waiting and watching COVID numbers and vaccination statistics, I’m happy to let you know that we have scheduled the Celebration of Life for Dan.

It will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 2:00 – 6:00 pm at the Green Acres Event Center in Eden Prairie. If you have never been to the facility, it’s gorgeous. It also checked off all of the boxes I needed to feel like we can hold a safe gathering.

There are two large open levels with incredibly high ceilings, good ventilation, accessible free parking and centrally located with both indoor and outdoor gathering areas.

When Dan and I used to talk about what we wanted after we were gone, he always said (in his typically modest manner), “I don’t care, whatever you want to do”. However, since he married an Event Planner, he’s getting an event. Plus, I always told him he must have been born in a barn, soooooo...

In order to plan for refreshments and seating arrangements, we are asking for RSVPs from all attendees. Below is a link where you can submit your RSVPs. We also ask that you RSVP as soon as you know if you are able to attend.

In addition, all attendees age 12 and older, will need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccinations. This is NOT a political statement nor is it up for debate. Considering that Dan lost his life to this insidious disease, I cannot in good conscience, hold a Celebration of Life without some restrictions.

Masks are not required, but they are strongly recommended, especially if you are in an area of the facility that may be crowded. Losing someone to COVID-19 is an absolute nightmare and Dan’s loved ones do not want ANYONE to go through what we have experienced over the last six months.

Please note that if for some reason the state shuts down again or it is deemed unsafe to gather, the Celebration of Life will be rescheduled for spring of 2022.

We are planning to have an event where we can laugh, cry, share stories, listen to great music, eat some good food and remember all of the wonderful, beautiful, funny and special things that made Dan such a positive presence in our lives.

We look forward to seeing you!
